The E&S strategy of Aradei capital aims at participating to the development of Morocco’s economic and social infrastructures, promoting growth and employment, while reducing its environmental footprint and offering a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for all its employees.
All Aradei’s activities, from development, through planification, construction to existing sites management, carry with them environmental and social responsibilities and improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder engagement is key for Aradei’s E&S strategy to be successful. Aradei Capital’s relationships with its stakeholders, whether they are suppliers, tenants, local communities, or local authorities, allow for ongoing dialogue through which Aradei can better understand their business needs and concerns, and take action to improve its E&S performance.
In early 2021, Aradei Capital conducted a materiality study in accordance with AMMC circular n ° 03/19 published in February 20, 2019. Aradei Capital is supported by an international firm expert in ESG (Utopies).
The objective of this study is to identify and prioritize the Company’s ESG issues through a participatory approach: a leaders’ consultation (directors and administrators) in order to identify the issues business importance and a selection of stakeholders’ consultation (employees, tenants, suppliers, real estate and retail experts, ESG experts, etc.) in order to understand their expectations. (This consultation is the first step towards defining the mission).
Prior to these consultations, the Company’s 8 material ESG issues were pre-identified according to SASB standards for real estate and interviews with the property company management board:
The purpose of consulting internal and external stakeholders is to prioritize these material issues and to clarify Aradei Capital’s societal mission. This will result in our ESG strategy and roadmap that will support our strategic commitments’ achievement.
The materiality analysis highlighted five priority material metrics:
