In 2022, Aradei Capital consolidated its environmental, social and societal initiatives under its E&S strategy « BRICKS FOR IMPACT », and is steering this strategy through well-established governance.
Aradei Capital’s E&S strategy “Bricks for Impact” aims to participate in the development of Morocco’s economic and social infrastructure, to promote growth and employment, while reducing its environmental footprint and offering its employees a safe, stimulating and supportive environment with the ambition to extend these principles to its main partners and stakeholders.
All of Aradei Capital’s activities, ranging from development, planning and construction to the management of operational assets, entail social and environmental responsibilities and improvement opportunities.
The involvement of various stakeholders, be it tenants, suppliers, surrounding communities, or local authorities, is vital to defining and implementing a successful E&S strategy. Aradei Capital’s relationship with its stakeholders allows it to have a continuous communication in order to better understand their challenges and concerns and to undertake the necessary measures to improve its E&S performance.
In 2022, Aradei Capital took another step forward in its E&S commitments, consolidating its E&S strategy under a clear governance framework and well-defined KPI’s
A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
A TERRITORIAL ANCHORING OF ASSETS IN SERVICE OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES
THE PROMOTION OF EQUITY, TRAINING AND TRANSPARENCY, AND EXTENDING THESE PRINCIPLES TO OUR STAKEHOLDERS
In early 2021, Aradei Capital conducted a materiality study in accordance with the AMMC circular n°03/19 published in February 20th 2019, with the help of an international E&S expert (Utopies)
The objective of this study is to identify and prioritize the company’s E&S challenges through a participatory approach: top management consultation (directors and administrators) in order to identify the business importance of the challenges and to realize a consultation of the main stakeholders (employees, tenants, suppliers, real estate and retail experts, E&S experts, etc.) in order to understand their expectations. (This consultation was the first step towards defining our mission).
Prior to these consultations, the Company’s 8 priority E&S metrics were pre-identified according to SASB standards for real estate and in accordance with interviews with the company’s management:
The purpose of consulting internal and external stakeholders is to prioritize these metrics and to specify Aradei Capital’s societal mission. Resulting in an E&S road map that fully supports the fulfilment of our strategic commitments.
The materiality analysis highlighted five material priority metrics:
A territorial anchoring of assets by serving local communities and territories
A commitment to have a positive impact on the environment
